Choosing a new content manager

Content management software is the engine which runs any website of decent size and capability. aBOOKS.com has used several over the years. These have included Nuke, PostNuke, a site I wrote from scratch in HTMLos, and others. Time has come to redo our site and I've been auditioning various CMS systems.

Our http://1vid.com site uses Joomla - a very hot CMS that everyone raves about, but I don't like it. MODx shows promise, but is not quite there yet. Mambo I liked but shied away because it has not been updated since 2008. EZPublisher is neat but not at all easy. I was tempted to write another from scratch (maybe in Django) but don't have that kind of time right now.

Finally, I'm checking out Drupal. I think we'll go with it.
